The KDL-55EX640 replaces the KDL-55EX620 (or 55EX720) from 2011 and is the third tier model LED backlit Television in Sony's lineup for 2012. It is an edge lit LED as opposed to the two higher end HX models which are both full array. The KDL55EX640 will ship from March 2012 to March 2013. Pricing will range considerably between $1199 and $1499 depending on time of year and whether or not the e-tailer includes shipping in the price.
