40" 1080p Razor LED edge lit LCD TV

The Vizio E401i-A2 is an entry level LED TV that packs a lot of features into a value package. A 40 inch TV is perfect for a meduim size to small room. It may not be ideal as a bedroom TV unless the room is pretty big. The 120Hz refresh along with the smart TV platform are the high points of this set. It loses the local dimming of the larger TVs in the E series, but the picture is still top notch.

Picture and Viewing Features

The E401i-A2 uses the Razor LED backlighting system to create a fantastic 1080p picture on this set. It's also got a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 6ms response time ensure smooth and stable images. This is ideal for sports programming as well as gaming. Say goodbye to motion blur. This TV has a dynamic contrast ratio of 200,000:1 and 16.7 million colors to make for great picture reproduction. Vizio shedded the local dimming feature on this model.

Appearance

The Razor LED design give it a super slim appearance with a metal frame and stand to boot. Vizio has also slimmed the bezel around the picture so you get more picture for the actual physical size of the TV. This design brings Vizio's TVs an updated appearace that will shine in every living room.

Audio

This TV has the same SRS TruSurround speaker system as many of the other entries in the E-series. The TruSurround system is designed to give you a more immersive experience with deep bass and clear dialogue from speakers specifically designed for use in flat panel TVs.

Internet Applications and Connectivity

The Vizio E401i-A2 features wifi built into the TV so you can get access to the Vizio Internet Apps (V.I.A.) right out of the box. Talk about an easy user experience. You'll find that Vizio's smart TV platform gets you to all of the apps you are really going to need on the TV. You get access to plenty of content apps like Youtube and Netflix. You can also log onto all of your favorite social networks and find news from many different sources. You aren't going to find any gesture control or voice recognition features on this TV.

It's also got a pretty neat two-sided remote. One side has all the standard buttons for surfing the channels, using a DVR, or controlling a blu-ray player. The other side has a full QWERTY keyboard with a 4-way directional pad and gaming buttons. This opens the possibility for gaming with ease on through the internet suite.
