Samsung's Smart Hub.
Google Maps is a particularly fun and pleasing addition to the Internet Apps included in the D6300 called Smart TV or Smart Hub. The You Tube application defaults to full screen and HD if the video is HD which a very nice improvement. Hulu Plus, VUDU, ESPN, and of course Netflix and Amazon on Demand are present. Samsung's Smart TV Apps could be the most comprehensive we see this year among TV manufacturers. It has Apps for sale such as Pac Man and Workout videos that cost .99. News and other services include USA Today, AP, Home Shopping Network, and Accuweather. The Your Video feature is a portal for movie and video rental. It yielded lots of new release movies which are mainly availably through Vudu for $3.99 each.

Energy Consumption: The 46D6300 is energy efficient and has its Energy Star 3.0 rating. Estimated monthly power cost based on 5 hours of daily viewing and 130Watts is $2.85 per month.
Value Rating: 8/10
Price Considerations: At $1249 at online authorized merchants, this is a compelling mid range LED-backed LCD with excellent HD video quality, super thin design, the new Allshare feature, and lots of Internet Apps. Video quality wanes somewhat with non-HD signals and viewing angle contrast degradation and sound quality are concerns. Competition comes from the Sony KDL46EX620.

Calibration Notes: The Samsung UND6300 has a 10 point white balance control but lacks Hue, Saturation and Brightness controls for Color Gamut fine tuning. Gamma was nearly perfect right out of the box at 2.2. Calibration went smoothly and color saturation levels were much more controlled than last years model.
