LG LH4530. These price sensitive models from LG give you some decent smart TV options, good preset picture mode settings so that you're not fooling with calibrations, and a pretty good picture for the money. These little LG TVs can also be used as computer monitors and have a nice ADS panel. The ADS panel has a bit better contrast ratio than the IPS (in-plane-switching) panels, and still has good side angle viewing. LG lists the response time as 8ms which is exceptionally fast so you will not see any input lag.

Picture Quality

LG's triple XD engine is probably the highlight of the 550D, as it really does a nice job of smoothing processing and delivering crisp image edges. There are not many picture quality high points aside from this. But I do not believe you will be disappointed with the picture quality from this TV for the price. Colors are pretty accurate and I really like the preset picture mode options on this TV. The Cinema, Expert 1 & 2 settings are all good. Black levels are not great and can get washed out at side angles. Color saturation is better than most LED TVs due to the ADS panel.

Design and Appearance

The appearance of the LH4530-P is blocky and square. It's not an attractive TV with a fairly thick looking frame for the size at over an inch. The mono-neck stand is not attractive either. In appearance the LH4530 has more of a monitor look. However, you can have a very narrow footprint stand to place the TV on.

Value

28" - $178

24" - $139

22" - $147

Value is where the rubber meets the road in the small inexpensive models. The 28” version is $178 compared with the new Vizio 28” D-series model's $184. There is a trust factor with LG compared to TCL and Hisense, you feel like you're getting more for the money at the same price.
