This shot from the 480i version of Super Bad shows a bright background and good shadow detail.

Sony has introduced the KDL-46EX700 as a good value proposition with lots of the most updated features that matter such as 120 Hz Motionflow, the new Bravia 3 engine and sleek good looks in just over 2" in depth. There were plenty of weaknesses that were uncovered during testing as well. At $1500 the price point on the KDL-46EX700 is an average value proposition when considering all the competition such as the Samsung UN46C6500, the LG 46LE5400, the Sharp LC-46LE820UN, and let's not forget a couple of plasma TVs as well like the Panasonic TC-P46S2

SONY KDL-46EX700 Features Review
The EX700 series contains the Bravia Engine 3, Bravia Sync technology, LED edge lighting, USB ports for photo, music, and video playback. It will also have an ambient sensor technoloy which allows for picture contrast dimming or brightening depending upon room light conditions. The LCD TVs in this series have edge lit LED backlighting for long life and improved blacks. The EX700 series features Sony's Motion Flow 120Hz refresh rate, in past reviews Sony has seemed to have a better handle on this feature than many other manufacturers. This unit promises some of Sony's best value for an LED backlit TV. It will not contain the new monolithic design present on some of the more premium models. The EX700 series does features internet access and Sony's Bravia Internet Video. Retail list price looks to be about $1700.
