Vizio XVT472SV Features Review
Not to be confused with the SV472XVT, the XVT472SV is, from what we can tell, the same TV without the built in wireless, the remote with the slide out QWERTY keyboard, the internet access features or the bluetooth functionality.
This TV, still part of the XVT series, is a 1080p, 240Hz LCD panel with local dimming LED backlighting. The local dimming backlighting adds to the color, contrast and black level performance over an equivilent panel with CFL back lighting or LED edge lighting. The 240Hz on this television is accomplished by combining a scanning backlight with a 120Hz refresh rate for an "effective" 240Hz as opposed to the true 240Hz found in other brands. This isn't neccesiarly a bad thing though as we have found in many LCD reviews that the first thing we do is figure out how to turn the high refresh rate off due to the extremely detrimental effect it can have on some content.
4 HDMI inputs, PC input, USB and multiple analog inputs both component and composite give plenty of connection options. The TV is a hefty four and a half inches deep to accomdate the Local Dimming LED backlighting but it has an attractive, thin bezel surround the anti glare screen
