This LCDs new design from Toshiba is called Deep Lagoon which is supposed to allude to the 3 dimensional design. There are many new features with these Toshiba models one such being the Clear Scan Advance Frame Technology which is supposed to increase the already overkill 120Hz processing to an effective 240Hz by way of its new LED backlight technology. Keep in mind that it is supposed to create the effect, it does actually change the Hz rate from 120. For a large majority of viewing material 120Hz is already overkill, decreasing depth perception and introducing detail in background material – sports programming being an exception.

Toshiba's fifth generation processing engine dubbed PixelPure(R) 5G has an 14-bit internal digital video processor which reportedly increases gradation to create smoother images. This LCD will enter the market in April of 2009.
