Sony continues its XBR excellence with the KDL-40XBR6 LCD. Continuing from the XBR5 series will be the Pro Full Video processing technology which has helped Sony bypass many competitors by providing superior processing for smoother imaging. The PRC-MFv2.5 processor creates a high density video signal that most processors cannot match. Taking some technology improvements from the XBR4 series, this 40” XBR LCD will continue with 10 bit processing matched with a 10 bit display panel. The Deep Color HDMI technology will remain present on the KDL40XBR6 through HDMI 1.3 inputs. Perhaps the biggest upgrade to this or any LCD panel is 120Hz refresh rate processing which alleviates so much of that annoying motion lag which can be present in LCD televisions.
Sony tells us the 40 inch and larger XBR6's will be cosmetically
different than the KDL-32XBR6 pictured above.
